7 Shah Rukh - Gauri Khan Controversies That Shocked Bollywood

Theirs may be a fairytale love story but that isn’t to say that it hasn’t been through its own share of ups and downs.

 

Here are seven SRK – Gauri controversies that had Bollywood reeling:

1. The AbRam Surrogacy Controversy

The joy that would have usually accompanied the news that SRK & Gauri were to be parents for the third time was jarringly marred by reports that the duo had undergone sex determination tests prior to the birth of their son which stirred the ire of the legal system. 

2. The Infidelity Allegations 

Their union of twenty four years may be a strong one but it remains just as controversial, with their marriage today counted among the handful that actually survived infidelity.

3. The Homewrecked Rumours

Indeed, for a brief patch, rumours bounded aplenty that Shah Rukh’s roving eye and his intimacy with certain co-stars had Gauri on the brink of walking out. 

4. The KJo Birthday Party Spat 

After trying several times to reach out an olive branch to Priyanka Chopra, Gauri found that she could no longer turn a blind eye to the undercurrents flowing between her husband and his Don co-star. A brutal showdown is said to have followed after the party with the thought of her two kids reportedly preventing Gauri from taking further measures. 

5. The Insecurity Issues 

Not Gauri’s; rather Shah Rukh is said to have a possessive streak a mile wide which earlier egged him on to prevent Gauri from dressing up in swimsuits or letting her hair down as he felt it would attract unwanted male attention. Needless to say, the ultimatum didn’t go down too well with Gauri.

6. The Priyanka Chopra Fallout 

Following the showdown, Gauri apparently asked her husband to quit working with Priyanka and for the longest time, gave her the cold shoulder during social events.

7. The Mannat Scandal

The palatial house that SRK gifted Gauri on her birthday unfortunately found itself in the centre of a raging controversy when allegations of illegal construction and violations of coastal regulations had the court serving a dire notice to the couple.
